Giving Back to Our Troops
As part of SSC’s core values, being actively involved in our communities is an important part of our company culture and the development of our team. Throughout the year, we look for opportunities to learn more about people, events, and organizations surrounding us, not just in Ohio, but across the US.
This past December, our team took to the stores to find socks, games, snacks, journals, and many other fun items to create care packages for our active military troops during the holiday season. Each box also included a handwritten letter showing our appreciation for their dedicated service and shared our warmest holiday wishes.
Our employees donated 92 boxes and Matt McAlear, CEO of SSC, matched our donations. Together, we packaged 185 boxes and sent them to men and women serving overseas. It’s a small part we could contribute to bring some joy for those who couldn’t be home. Our hope is that all men and women serving will stay safe and healthy until they see their loved ones again.
